The Truth About Addictions
One of my favorite astrologers from Astrolada mentioned that addictions usually plague extremely spiritual individuals. I've thought about it for a while, and it makes sense. Our body is tethered to this plane of existence, but our soul is not because it understands the expression of creation. Unfortunately, you will attempt to fill the void when you do not recognize the soul for its existence and understand your power.

Instead of using the void as a canvas or a workshop to bring about the reality you want and need on this earth, addictions lead us to enormous consumption. We try to escape this reality because we think we do not effect change with our minds, emotions, and actions. The remedy will always be passion and living ardently with purpose.
When studying my birth chart, I realized that Lillith's energy in my 5th house can be the culprit or can explain the reason why I'm so addicted to food. First, it's in the sign of Cancer, which starts its trajectory in the 4th house (rulership home), then the 5th and the 6th house.
Cancer represents the home, intuition, feelings, comfort zone, comfort food, protection, breasts (that's how most women would feed their newborns), etc. I compare the 4th house energy to the 4 of Cups and 8 of Cups in the Tarot.
The 4 cups usually talk about contentment or boredom. Furthermore, the number 4 seems shaped like a fork, which can refer to a need to be picky or that's already part of our personality. So the correlation with Cancer and/or the 4th house when referring to addictions can talk about how our lackluster lifestyle can drive us to take options that are neither necessarily healthy nor conducive to the kind of life we want. Secondly, The 8 of cups refers to the realization that something has to change or that you must figure out a way. Usually, this profound realization and analysis have everything to do with understanding who you are and what you are made of, which would lead to your desired outcome.
So, the 5th house is supposed to represent the house of hobby, sex, children, gambling, creativity, etc. The 5th house rulership sign is Leo, and The Sun, so already there, you can guess the difference in energy:
Outgoing versus Introvert,
Expressive versus I write in my diary (lol),
Fire versus Water,
Action-oriented versus Daydreaming
Daylight versus Moonlight
Party versus Homebody
On the other hand, I do relate the 5 of wands and the Hierophant card to the 5th energy house. The positive aspect of the 5 of wands is trying out new things and moving to your heart's pace, and the negative part of that energy is blocking your flow or having a hard time moving in wholesome unity. In the addiction sphere, chaos seems to reign here in which you cannot make the right decisions due to a lack of clarity. Therefore, you can't seem to find the piece to the puzzle that will allow you to get out of this hellish maze. Alternatively, the ever-seeking of external stimulation can fill a temporary desire at once, referring to its "sand castle" theme.

Now the Hierophant card has a lesson to teach us about reasoning. The three individuals metaphorically depict the hows and the whys in the famous Rider Waite Tarot. Understanding what your "makeup" is after can help you find the way to holiness, similar to wholesomeness. In other words, the instant you came out of your mother's womb without this earthly plane baggage, aka pollution. Yes, the Hierophant card talks about rules, but in the 5th house, it refers more to the individual ruling. Or you can see which place your Sun sign is ruling, your astrological sign. Remember that understanding your astrological birth chart is paramount to understanding your strengths and Achilles heel.

Let's go back to the specificity of my chart. I have to explain what mirrors that house is, the planet Neptune, in the 11th house. Since this is related to the group house and the 5th house is more the individual. Usually, when you are part of a group, there is an alliance or a common theme that rallies the troop. Neptune, there can represent your soul" family."
On the other hand, the Capricorn energy could talk about the group's actual foundation. Positively, it can be loyalty and shared interests. Negatively, it can be your limitations, victimhood, or perceived vulnerability.
The other astrological chart aspects you need to pay attention to are the 6th and 12th house axis. The 6th house planet rulership is Mercury, and its rulership sign is Virgo. The day-to-day activity is what Virgo dominates, and it's the 6th house arena of expertise. The 12th house deals with your whole mind state; the planet rulership is Neptune, and its appropriate sign is Pisces.
These houses are essential because they are mutable energy houses which means maintaining objectivity and being flexible are some of the themes we should play with. For example, Sagittarius in the 6th house energy would like to complete many things in one sitting because it's facing time as an obstacle. On the other hand, that energy can observe the day as an experience that will contribute to an end goal even if everything does not go according to plan.
The addiction curveball here would be that your vision is obscured; you feel like you have no purpose and no power to change or create anything in your life. So it's possible that you would take the easier route by escaping, which is also the theme for the 12th house. So whatever sign/planet that is in the 12th house is the energy that can be used for your downfall or your greatness. All you need to do is apply or play with the positive characteristics of the signs/planets in the 12th house since your mindset rules everything. Once you do that, you'll be able to create whatever you need in the other astrological places or whatever desired aspects of your life.
